It's getting cold! What better way to fight back against the cold than a cup of fresh HOT coffee! And when we say our coffee is fresh, we mean it is fresh! Our coffee comes from Cafe Pronto, a local roaster and it is never more than two weeks old, meaning it's roasted and shipped to use right away. And we go through so much of it, you are guaranteed a cup of the coffee, the likes of which you will not find anywhere else in Howard County.

There are less than 3 weeks until Thanksgiving. If you're in the mood for something that melds all the flavors of the holiday, have we got a treat for you. Come in and try one of our Turkey Gobbler Sandwiches. Take your favorite GH bread (we recommend Stuffing Bread) add oven roasted turkey, cheese, fresh lettuce, tomato, onion and homemade cranberry sauce. It's Thanksgiving heaven!

Ode to Pumpkin Swirl
Surely by now you've heard how great the soups and chilis are at GH. But when was the last time you had one of our sandwiches. Truly, we must have the best lunch menu in Howard County.
Unlike some other places with there occasional free coffee, we have free coffee every Friday from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM. Have you tried our coffee? It must be the finest in Howard County! We use freshly roasted coffee from Cafe Pronto, a coffee roaster in Annapolis. Our beans our never more that two weeks out of the roaster. That's much better than those other places.
We're not going to tell you everything we have on the menu this month. But we will reveal a couple treats. We begin our Monday Rye bread rotation with Swedish Rye. It's a little on the sweet side, modeled after Swedish Limpa bread. It's very versatile and we are confident you will like it.
Don't you love the crisp fall air? Suddenly, the oppressive heat of summer has vanished, leaving behind refreshing, cool breezes and the smell of leaves. Doesn't it make you want apples?

Are you already thinking about Rosh Hashanah? That's fine! We love a customer who plans ahead. We will have order forms ready for you to fill out starting on Monday. All your holiday favorites will be available including our delicious Round Challahs (with or without golden raisins).
With the first day of school right around the corner, we know you are desperate for some healthy lunch ideas. The Healthy Lunch Challenge winner from Maryland, our buddy Sam (pictured with his new friend, Sam Kass, White House Chef) might have some ideas for you. His recipe for Sizzling Tofu with Green Onions and Sugar Snap Peas won him a trip to the White House this week! Of course, that isn't every kids idea of a good lunch. If your kids like things that are more standard, such as a nice sandwich, why not start with some of the wonderful GH breads? Our whole grain breads are a great choice and whole grains are known to be very nutritious and their complex carbohydrates keep you going a lot longer than those grocery store breads that are full of sugar and fillers. Blech!
In the next week or so, our college students are heading back to school, or in some cases, heading to school for the first time. We know they'll be much more productive then the guy on the left! We thought it would be fun to post their favorite breads. Come in and say goodbye and grab a loaf!
