Recovery Time

We know you are all exhausted from the holiday parties, shopping and general chaos in your lives for the past few weeks. Those extra days with the kids home probably didn't help any. We have the perfect way to get you back to your old energized self; WHOLE GRAINS!

Every day, we offer two Whole Grain Breads. In addition to our breads, our Cookie mix, Brownie mix and Instant Oatmeal are also whole grain products. The Whole Grain Council lists numerous studies on their website extolling the benefits of whole grains in our diets. For example, the benefits of whole grains most documented by repeated studies include:

stroke risk reduced 30-36%
type 2 diabetes risk reduced 21-30%
heart disease risk reduced 25-28%
better weight maintenance

Check out the Whole Grain Council website for more information. http://www.wholegrainscouncil.org/ and look for the Whole Grain stamp on other products in the store and everywhere that you shop.
We hope to see you soon. Your friends at the Great Harvest in Columbia.

Grain is Good

In addition to Honey Whole Wheat (which should be a staple in every household) we offer several other grainy-licious breads each week. Whole grain breads are a great way to get a healthy dose of fiber and did you know that one slice of one of our whole grain bread before any holiday party will help you stay away from all the temptations thrown in your way?

We want to know which grain bread you are! Take the survey on the left. Results will be available on December 31st.

Has the Panic Set In?

OMG!!! Only 23 days until Christmas!! Don't worry! Great Harvest is here to help with your holiday and gift and dinner needs. Here are some highlights of our December offerings.

Chocolate Babka is on the menu for the entire month. This is a rare occurrence so please don't miss out! We roll out our sweet dough, lay on an abundance of chocolate and roll it up. This delectable dessert is perfect for your Hanukkah celebration. We recommend that you call ahead and place an order. Babkas go fast!

New to our menu this year is a Kentucky Bourbon Bread. This awesome bread starts with dried apricots, figs and golden raisins soaked overnight in good ol' Kentucky Bourbon and apple juice. Like all our special treats, place your order to be sure you get to partake of this delightful goodie.
