DIY Super Bowl Treat

This delightful treat is a Cheddar Bacon Pull-Apart Bread that you can make yourself!

Get a round loaf of any of our breads (we used Old Fashioned White) and slice into about an inch into it going in both directions.

Insert rectangles of cheese (1/2" by 1/2" by 3") in the openings.

Sprinkle with crumbled bacon and pour over melted garlic butter (about 1/4 cup).

Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes. Try to serve this warm.

Be sure to check our Facebook page for more treats and some Super Bowl Specials!

Savory Super Bowl Treats

Have you heard the news? Chicken Wings are in short supply. Expect to pay outrageous prices for this traditional football food. Know what isn't suffering from Super Bowl price gouging? Great Harvest Breads! We have so many treats for your Super Bowl party!

If you're looking for a good savory bread, you can't beat Cheddar Garlic. It's loaded with big chucks of cheddar cheese, not grated cheese that melts away. And it has just enough garlic to give it a full flavor without being overwhelming. Another savory crowd pleaser is Popeye Bread, with spinach, peppers, onion and garlic, this is a great bread for dipping!

If you are looking for dips (or spreads) we have those, too. We have so many mixes for cheese balls, dips, soups as well as some fantastic dipping oils.

If you love sweets, we've got you covered, too! There will be plenty of Raven's purple cookies, Chocolate Brownie Bread, Chocolate Brownie Bread Cupcakes and a very special Raven's Purple King Cake!

We'll be sampling dips and other yummy treats this week, so stop on by!

We hope to see you soon! Your friends at the Great Harvest in Columbia.

Super Bowl Fun!

We know you are surfing the Internet for Super Bowl food ideas. Many of you will go the traditional route with nachos, wings, chips and dip, etc. But the enlightened Ravens fan will want something better. Something that can be wild and crazy or simple and sedate. Do we have the Super Bowl treat for you! Great Harvest Pizza Dough!

These pictures are from Lynn, one of our Kneaders. Lynn prepared her own tomato sauce (see the blender to the right of the dough in the top picture). She delicately painted that on the dough, added some sliced, fresh veggies and a bit of cheese. She was THRILLED with the results.

Stop by and talk to Lynn and she can give you details on the sauce. Or you can create your own. We have Whole Wheat or White Pizza Dough. You get two generous balls of frozen dough. You can take them out of the freezer when you leave in the morning and they'll be ready for you to top and bake when you arrive home. Let your imagination go wild! Try a Maryland Crab Pizza, or Spinach Pesto, Pizza Margarita, Pepperoni, Plain Cheese... Whatever.

We hope to see you soon! Your friends at the Great Harvest in Columbia.

Each day, we offer two whole grain breads, Old Fashioned White, Challah and a variety of specialty breads. We also have lots of sweets, whole grain mixes, coffee, tea, jams and beautiful, local pottery.

We thank you for your business. We hope to continue to serve your baking needs for years to come.
