Irish Soda Bread Is Back!

Come and get it!

There really isn't much to say about our Irish Soda Bread. It is so loved by the masses that we have extended it on the menu for several months at a time. Irish Soda Bread is made with baking soda; no yeast. It is slightly sweet with raisins dotted throughout and a decorative X cut in the top. We love it toasted with some sweet cream butter.

Irish Soda Bread will be available until at least the end of March, possibly beyond. To be certain you get yours, call and order one today.

Don't forget to check out our specials for our blog readers! It's posted on the left hand side of the page.

We hope to see you soon. Your friends at the Great Harvest in Columbia.

The Son of Snowmageddon

Great Harvest will be closed today and tomorrow. With such hazardous weather, we want our employees and customers to stay safe at home. We have not determined what we will do on Friday yet.

Hopefully you have some Great Harvest Cookie and Pancake mix in your pantry. We recommend you start baking and hopefully we'll see you later this week. And use the email link on the left side of the page and send us your pictures. We'll do our best to get some of them up on the blog and in our digital frame in the store.

Who Knew?

Who would have believed we could possible get more snow? We will be doing our best to meet your needs for bread and fresh baked goods. Our fresh breads will start coming out of the oven at 9:00am. We will be baking extra today in anticipation of the snow. Our breads today include Onion Dill Rye, Apple Crunch and Chocolate Babka, as well as our regular breads. (Please check our website for a complete list of breads and sweets). We encourage you to call ahead and order your breads.

We apologize to those of you who were disappointed on Friday. We sold out earlier than anticipated, and those who came in after 11:00 were left with no bread. To make amends we have included a coupon that is good for the remainder of February.

Thank you for your continued support!
We appreciate your business.

Phil's Day

If you were a groundhog, and a famous one at that, you might be getting prepared to come out of your little enclosure and take a peek around. Then, some strange looking man with a top hat and tails will heft you into the air and declare what you have seen. How does he know what you see? People shout and whistle, fireworks go off. Then you get to go back into your cozy home and snack on ground hog food.

We have many tasty treats for you to snack on today, Ground Hog's Day 2010. There is something for every taste. Come on in and see for yourself!

We hope to see you soon. Your friends at the Great Harvest in Columbia.
