Good Bye Mr. Beasley

We bid a fond farewell to Mr. Beasley, one of Carol's bassett hounds, who died yesterday. Mr. B had not been well for some time. He will be sorely missed. Carol is in Massachusetts visiting family for a few weeks but you can send her your condolesences on Facebook. And chase a squirrel or bark at the UPS guy in Beasley's honor today.

Grilling Magic

Did you know that our breads are great for grilling? This month we have many savory breads that are wonderful for the grill, including Cheddar Garlic, Caprese, Asiago Pesto, Popeye and Asiago Pesto. They can be brushed with olive oil and put on the grill for a great accompaniment to your grilled meats and vegetables. If you need recipe ideas, stop by. We're happy to help!

Have you checked out our Facebook Page?
We have attracted quite a list of followers on Facebook. Are you there, too? We provide updates on bakery activities and have pictures of many of our products, including a picture of a yummy veggie sandwich one of our customers made with our Onion Dill Rye. The link on the right side of the page will take you to the excitement.

We hope to see you soon. Your friends at the Great Harvest in Columbia.

Ugly Ties!

At the Great Harvest, we like to give you an annual opportunity to purge Dad's wardrobe of the hideous ties he has been embarrassing you with for ages. Between now and June 19th (the day before Father's Day...hint..hint..hint) we will give you a loaf of White or Honey Whole Wheat Bread in exchange for that ugly tie.

At the end of the contest, all ties go to charity.

Check out the picture of one of last year's entries!

We hope to see you soon. Your friends at the Great Harvest in Columbia.

Where Do We Start?

There are so many fascinating things to write about this month? Where can we possibly start?

Treats
Some of our favorite sweet treats are on the menu this month. On Tuesdays, stop by for Blueberry Coffee Cake. Lots of blueberries, crunchy topping. So yummy! On Thursdays, we have our Almond Pound Cake, and heavens, is it tasty! Sweet cream butter, almond pastry filling...Mmmm... Delicious! It's perfect with summer fruits, ice cream or better yet, homemade whipped cream. Speaking of fruit, on Fridays this summer, we will have our Sour Cream Fruit Pies. Lots of fruit, yet not too sweet like those grocery store pies. And lots of flavors to choose from.

Grains
Have you tried our newest grain bread? It's called Ho. Co. Bread. We have it on Saturdays this month. We take flax seed, sunflower seeds, walnuts and pecans and add cranberries and golden raisins. We know you'll love this one as much as all the other great grain breads we offer all week.

Our Grads
It is with mixed emotions that we say CONGRATULATIONS to our Howard High graduates. Langhan, Nikki and Kameron. Langhan and Nikki will be around this summer before they head off to college this fall. Thankfully, we will keep Kameron around a little longer than that. We are so proud of all their accomplishments and we'll miss them tremendously.

Stay tuned for more news! We hope to see you soon. Your friends at the Great Harvest in Columbia.
