There are lots of stories about the history of Red Velvet Cake. Our favorite involves a woman who had the cake at the famed Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York. She loved it so much, she contacted the hotel for the recipe. They sent it to her, along with a hefty bill! She was so enraged, she copied the recipe and sent it to all her friends and family.
